The brief

A website that brings in antiques to buy

Vintage Collections Wales buys antiques, collectables, and house contents across South and West Wales, from private sellers, dealers, collectors, and executors.

The website's main job is to bring in things to buy, so sellers had to be able to send their details and photos from a phone. It also needed a shop for the pieces it sells, without taking payment online.

Starting point

A new website, with no earlier site

The business had no website before, so the pages, the forms, and the stock records were planned from the start.

What we built

A sell form, a reservation shop, and a stock app

We built the website with Next.js and the Payload editor on Cloudflare. Sellers start on the sell form, and buyers browse the shop and reserve a piece to pay for on collection.

Further pages explain how selling works, what the business buys, with a page for each category, and its house and garage clearance service.

Website

A three-step sell form

Sellers describe their items and add photos from their phone, which are resized before they upload. Seller photos stay private to the admin.

Sell requests in the admin

Each request is saved in the admin, where the team moves it from New through to Collected.

A stock app for phones

A piece is added from a phone: photos first, then what it is, the category, and a short summary. Each piece gets its own reference number.

Screens

The shop, the guide, and the sell form on desktop, tablet, and phone

The outcome

Built and ready for the business's own stock

The website, the forms, and the stock app are built and working with sample stock. The site launches once the business adds its own stock and contact details.
