The brief
A website the staff could keep up to date themselves
Trade Used Cars sells used cars and parts across South and West Wales from Ammanford. The owner and staff wanted to add cars from their phones, with photos taken on the spot, so the website lists the cars in stock.
The business also needed enquiries to reach the team, and a way for drivers to ask for a valuation or a part exchange.
The problem
No admin, and enquiries that never arrived
The previous website had no admin, so nobody at the garage could change it. Its contact form discarded enquiries before they were sent.
The copy also placed the business in London and advertised finance the dealer does not offer.
What we built
A dealer website, a parts catalogue, and a stock app
We rebuilt the website with Next.js and the Payload editor, hosted on Cloudflare, and corrected the business details and the copy. The homepage opens with a search for cars by make, price, fuel, and gearbox.
Two days after launch we added a parts catalogue, a valuation request form, and a part exchange page. The stock app followed, so cars can be added from a phone.
Vehicle search and stock pages
Search by make, maximum price, fuel, and gearbox. The stock page lists each car with its photo, price, and details, with filters beside the list.

A stock app for staff phones
Staff add a car from their phone with up to 20 photos. Photos are resized on the phone and get a navy bar with the dealer's logo before they upload.

Valuation and part exchange
A valuation request form, and a part exchange page where drivers choose a car in stock. Requests are saved in the admin.

A parts catalogue
50 servicing and wear parts with descriptions and stock levels. Each part has a button that opens an enquiry about it.

Staff logins
Each member of staff has their own login and chooses their own password at first sign-in. Staff logins handle cars, and everything else is kept to the owner's login.

Privacy and terms pages
A privacy policy and website terms written from an audit of the data the site collects.
Screens
The stock page on desktop, tablet, and phone
On a desktop the filters sit beside the cars. On a tablet they move above the list, and on a phone each car's photo sits above its price and details.

Inside the admin
Inside the admin and the stock app
Shown with sample stock and sample enquiries.

The outcome
Enquiries and requests now reach the admin
Enquiries, valuation requests, and part exchange requests are saved in the admin for the team to answer, and the owner and staff add and edit cars from their phones.
Number-plate lookup through the DVLA and MOT history services is built and waits for the dealer's API keys. It is not switched on yet.
